I am a Soaring Spirit on a Spitirual Journey

I am a Soaring Spirit on a Spitirual Journey, striving to be a better person everyday
More and more people are awakening at this high energy time. It is life changing in a very positive way once your mind starts to awaken and you start "remembering and questioning" things that you would normally not question and just accept.
We need to promote peace, gratitude and forgiveness, dissolving conflict, fear and judgment within the heart of every individual.

Here is a wonderful video for those awakening minds.

Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle,
and the life of the candle will not be shortened."

You are not a human on a spiritual journey
You are a spirit on a human journey.

Its been over 12 weeks since my last posting, this is mainly because we have been busy working our Wikaniko Eco-friendly work from home Business and Gary has been recovering from the major Surgery he had back in April, there have been lots of exciting changes over that time within the Business. From our Spiritual Journey point of view it feels like it has been very quiet over that time, that things were ticking away quietly but there was no real landmark events.

That all changed a few weeks ago, it started with me getting increasingly grumpy with everyone and realising that i had neglected "me" time over the last few months, our meditation/quiet shed had been changed into an office which on one hand is great as it gives me a seperation between work and family time but i am missing it as a meditation place. I realised it had been weeks since i had listened to the soul touching music of my two favourite groups Il Divo and Blake. We took a day out of the usual routine and went for a lunchtime meal at a place i used to work many years ago and where Gary and I used to go when we were first going out , of course it had changed but it still held memories and we realised we hadn't done anything like that since Ryan was born 20 years ago!!!!!
That was also the day Garys Gran died, it was painful as although she lived locally she had chosen to cut us out of her life 26 years ago mainly we believe because she had lost a son to a motorcycle accident when he was just 24 and didn't want want to get hurt again by getting close to anyone but as fate seems to do in the month or so before she died Gary happened to visit his mum at the same time she was there and a peace seemed to be found, she said she had been selfish and on the last visit to the hospital Gary made it clear it was 26 wasted years but that it was ok and that he loved her and she should remember that. She died about an hour later.

Since then it has been an emotional rollercoaster with situations seeming to conspire to make us face any unresolved situations and issues and hangups that we have that are holding us back. Three months of  development seems to have been thrown at us in one go - perhaps theres a lesson in there somewhere. We are gradually facing and resolving these things one at a time and with each one it feels like we have blown up another boulder that has been stopping us moving forward on our path. Its surprising how facing and challenging situations can open up the next part of the journey. We are after all here to learn and it amazes me how many people choose the easiest path of least resistance in their lives and then wonder why they don't progress or they continue getting the same old problems come up. We were like that for many years and now having experienced the other side of the coin we welcome challenges as we know we will be stronger and progress if we face them head on.
Facing them can be very emotional and uncomfortable and in some cases very painful but that is shortlived compared to ignoring them because they will come around again at some point and will seem bigger and in some cases become monsters which we have to face. Believe me, we have been there, done that and i know now what i prefer.

We are feeling drained because of the intensity of the emotions and it has been incredibly painful at times but we will gather our strength again over the coming days and deal with some issues which need to be addressed in the near future and i know that will make us even stronger and propel us and our Business to the next level and we welcome that.

The Journey

We have been drawn since starting our Spiritual Journey to look at and change various things in our lives which we would never have probably even thought about before. We felt drawn to natural healing books, eating foods that heal and not harm (so much so i actually bought a Readers Digest Book even though i knew i would never be able to stop all the junk mail from them from previous experience), i was drawn to buying Gary crystals and learning about their properties, add that to just "knowing" i had to learn Reiki it definately feels like it is a Plan that is laid out.

After a particularly bad winter several years with snow and ice i developed an ongoing sinus/ear problem and am convinced  it was the air freshners i was using in the home which pumped chemicals out every 30 minutes, add that to doors and windows being closed because of the bad weather and not getting out in the fresh air for days at a time. I was taking antihistimines, sterimar, flixonase nasal spray, antibiotics drops and tablet antibiotics as prescribed by GP and still it lasted for weeks. I spent some time researching on the Internet and there are lots of other people across the World who all say it is linked to chemicals whether its spray deodorants, hairsprays etc etc and to have an air freshner that pumps them out every 30 minutes, well!!!!!
I now seem to have very sensitive sinuses and ears. We are now a chemical free Zone in the house as much as possible and try and eat healthily and i try and avoid any products which may aggrevate my sinuses, cutting out diary seems to have helped and drinking lots of fluid to keep the mucous thin, avoiding yeasts and fungi, all seems to help.

In February our lives changed, Gary, my husband was disgnosed with Prostate Cancer at the age of 47, possibly a genetic link but it has really enforced that all the changes we had made in the months before the diagnosis were for a reason. Its been a tough time but i personally have a very strong feeling that it is a part of our Journey which was meant to be, that may sound very strange to many but i just "know" it is, its an incredibly tough time on all of us but i also believe we are never given anything we can't deal with and that things happen for a reason and that there are positives in every situation. Through our journey up to this point we have been drawn to many people in different ways all of which have added their own unique input into this difficult situation we are facing and without them all i don't think we would have coped as well as we have. We have learnt so much in a short space of time about a lot of things, most importantly about ourselves, Gary in particular.

It has provided a link to several areas of our lives which we couldn't quite see the connection before. Its not just about having a good mindset to deal with problems which is very important, its about looking after your bodies with the right foods and not giving them a hard time with chemicals as well as causing the Planet a problem as well. Its looking after your mind, body, spirit and your Soul, they all need to be looked after and fed whether its good food, positive thoughts, mixing with like minded people etc etc. Its a whole approach not just one aspect but all of it, "holistic". The jigsaw pieces are starting to fit together.

It has been foretold in many different religions and faith that a change would happen at this time, some said it was the end of the World, well my take is changes have to be made, more and more people are "awakening" to these changes that have to be made, some partially, some like us making the connection that its not just one aspect we have to look at but the "WHOLE" thing. More and more people are starting to see this and being drawn together and as in Wikaniko where i am trying to spread the message about the importance of reducing the chemicals in our homes and Environment. Lets remember that we also have to look after our Minds and feed our Souls with good things such as Love and not wars and hate and also make sure we feed our immune systems with things that can help fight disease and keep us healthy.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.

Reiki - the next step

Going greener and joining Wikaniko is without a doubt part of my lifes journey, it feels 100% correct and has opened up other doors which also have felt like they were meant to be. It really does feel as though we are on a mapped out journey and a little bit more of that journey opens up as we move and push forward.

We continued collecting books and information on both personal development and also Spiritual books. It was during July last year that i woke up one morning and just knew i had to look into Reiki Spiritual Healing. It was such a strong overwhelming feeling that i knew i HAD to do it so spent time reading up on Reiki and other holistic therapies. The more i read the more i knew it was part of the journey we are on and that this was the next step for me. When i did my Reiki level 1 in August last year it was a very powerful feeling and i was actually physically sick immediately afterwards which i believe was part of the cleansing process. I have since done my level 2 .

Reiki is about starting off with self treatment and can be used as a powerful tool for healing the mind, body and spirit, its about creating wholeness, harmony and balance. It is about being a chanel for the natural energies that are around. I will probably do some further posts on Reiki at some point as i believe it is a powerful tool in life and one that anyone can greatly benefit from.

I am fascinated by alot of the therapies such as cognitive behaviour therapy, EFT (emotional freedom technique), relexology, aromotherapy, crystal therapy and so on and hope at some point to train in them. I have always had a strong feeling from a very early age that i was meant to help other people and although working at the Job Centre before having children gave me a sense of fulfilment when it became more about figures and not people i felt i wasn't on the right course.

I have done several work from home Businesses in the past while i was bringing up my children, starting off with Kleeneze which taught me a lot and which encouraged me to continually journey along the personal development route but i wasn't passionate about the products and in may cases was ashamed to take money from my customers for them so i started with a young family run Company called Everyday Essentials which sold Ecover products amongst other things. Unfortunately the Company ceased trading and after having put a lot of time and effort in starting to build a reasonable customer base locally and also recruiting a team across the UK i vowed never to get involved in this type of Business again. I remember saying to Gary at the time that if i could ever afford to i would start off my own Network Marketing Company (i do truly believe its a very fair way of helping others to earn an extra income/build a Business through providing support and training) but it would have to be eco-friendly products.

Several years passed, four to be exact and i kept myself busy bringing up my three children, doing lots of personal development reading and a few online courses and occasionally kept up to date on the work from home Businesses being offered but nothing ever jumped out at me. Then one day just under a year ago i was visiting my parents when a brochure was put through their door. I picked it up for them and saw it was a Company i had never heard of called WIKANIKO, so being a bit nosey i started flicking through the pages and saw it was all eco-friendly products. It was the price of the black bin bags that first caught my attention, about the same as i was paying at the supermarket for non biodegradable ones. Then it was the range of products that caught my attention, household products, gadgets, pets, cleaning, laundry, toiletries and cosmetics. WOW now it had got my full attention. I took the details of the distributor down and the website and thought i must look at this further.

A few weeks passed and i came across the details i had wrote down and went online to check the website, what a fantastic website, it felt warm, inviting and fitted in exactly with what we felt although at this point i was only using the odd eco-friendly product because of financial restraints  and reading more about it i realised it was also a co-operative marketing venture which really did start to excite me.
I saw a way where i could buy my own eco-friendly products at wholesale price and even cover that cost by finding some customers and using my commission to cover my own purchases and then find some more customers and earn an extra income to help the family. This was what i had been waiting those four years for. I emailed the distributor and asked lots of questions and i joined in March last year and haven't looked back. I absolutely love the products in fact i am passionate about the Company, its ethics and the products and have met lots of lovely like-minded people in the process. The last year has been a real eye opener and i am now even more passionate about sharing the great products, everyone of which isn't adding to the problems the Planet is already facing, its more than just selling products to earn an extra income its about educating people and showing them a different way - a better and healthier way in my opinion.

I truly believe Wikaniko found me and that it is part of my plan and journey through this life and so the journey continues. New post coming soon about waking up about 6 months ago knowing what the next step was.

We read all three Conversations with God books and started being drawn to other spiritual books, it was as if another door had opened in our lives and I really felt that i was at the start of a journey but I didn't have a clue where it would lead me but i felt an inner calm and peace with that which for me, who is usually someone who has to have everything laid out and a plan in place to be content, it was a new experience.
I started viewing my life and that of people around me in a different and more revealing and understanding light and felt more in control of my life than ever before. I had more patience, more inner strength, more inner happiness and more appreciation of the beauty around us.

I found a classical crossover group several years ago called Il Divo and there was something about the music and the voices which just made such a difference to me, i could walk down the road on a grey, miserable day with my headphones on and the world would brighten up, the colours looked brighter around me and i had a strange sensation deep inside me. I could be feeling stresses at home and in an instant of playing their music the world was a better place, the stress just disolved and everything was perfect.
It was after reading the three Conversations with God books that i knew that Il Divo reached my soul, a part of me i had forgotten about at some point. It was more than just liking the group and their music, i had never felt like this with any other music even when i was a teenager, it definately started awaking a part of me that had been asleep for a long time.

We have been busy over the last 20 years bringing up our 3 children, dealing with a few health issues and generally dealing with everyday life. We always felt that as busy as we were there was something missing in our lives and after talking about it on and off over the years we both felt perhaps that it was religion but were unable to find a religion or church that had all our beliefs. I know it sounds strange but we knew what our beliefs were before seeking a church or religion not the other way round as perhaps it normally is. Most  religions fitted our basic beliefs but then we found out what they taught didn't fit in with our beliefs totally and we weren't prepared to compromise our beliefs or commit our time to something we didn't fully believe either.

My biggest issue was seeing my youngest in tears after an event at a local church because she thought her brother would "burn in hell" because he didn't believe in God. She couldn't believe that the loving God we had brought her up to believe in would turn his back on someone who hadn't the same belief as the Church taught or that her loving Pets don't have souls so they wouldn't go to heaven. It was at this point that I knew there was an answer out there but which we hadn't yet found so we went back to getting on with our lives and my youngest attended local church events held for the social side but carried on with her own belief as we had all the years previously.

At this stage we  would regularly have a look at our local charity shops for personal development books and about 18 months ago Gary came across a book called Conversations with God part 2 written by Neale Donald Walsch and felt drawn to buy it which he did. We both found it fascinating and decided we needed to read book 1 and also no 3.
As i was reading Book 1 it was like i had come home, the things i was reading weren't anything new, i knew it all already but i had forgotten it and reading it was making me remember - a very strange sensation but a life changing one.

We have been keen readers of personal development books about 8 years and it was these that started this journey i think. Over the years both of us have learnt and gained so much from the books we have read and relating them to our everyday lives, in fact i think i am right in saying we are now two totally different people to who we were then. That's what its all about.........a journey. We both believe that we are now much better people than we were 8 yrs ago and are both keen to continue the journey. I believe that learning and trying to make yourself better is an ongoing process and one that carries on all the time. The very first Personal Development i read was by Susan Jeffers called Don't sweat the small stuff. Its a book that i re read regularly when life seems to be getting too heavy. There are numerous other books which i could recommend, perhaps i will one day get round to listing them all.
Another one i read early on that made an impact on me was Feel the fear and do it anyway also by Susan Jeffers. Then theres Eat that Frog, The Power of Now and most recently two outstanding books about the law of attraction are The Cosmic Ordering Service and The Secret.
I have mentioned this because i believe it is what started us on the journey that has led us to the road we are on now, going greener, seriously giving going Vegetarian consideration and on the Spiritual Enlighting path.
